Presidents Report
October 2010
To the Membership:
It has been my privilege to have served as the President of the
Board of Marine Underwriters of San Francisco during the past 12 months.
Below is a summary of our activities
over the last year:
Committee activities
Education
– Sandy Inouye, Chairperson - The Board hosted its biennial seminar on May 6
and 7, 2010. Multiple topics
were presented from a very informed and wide array of speakers.
Critiques reflected positive feedback on the speakers and topics
covered which included:

Information was updated on the website throughout the year as necessary.
The presentations from the Biennial Seminar were posted to the site
in June.
2012 Seminar Committee – Julie Vogele, Chairperson.
The committee will begin actively planning the next biennial seminar
early in 2011. The site for the
2012 Biennial Seminar has been
selected and a contract signed with the Palace Hotel.
Treasurer’s Report - Peter Knowles reported at the August 9, 2010
Directors meeting that the Board was financially sound having $50,269 in its
bank accounts and that the biennial seminar of 2010 was a break even result.
I would like to extend my thanks all those who contributed time and
service to the Board. This includes
all the Officers and Directors and the many volunteers who assisted during
the Seminar and on our committees.
In closing, I would like to encourage all members to get involved
in the Boards activities since this is the only way we can continue to put
on quality events for the good of everyone in the Marine Industry.
